    Hello,

When I type www.google.com, it opens www.google.com.ng (nigeria).
I cleaned my pc with adaware, spybot, ccleaner, etc.. but in vain.
    Please advise.

    Thank you

    Changing Google Search Default Country

Always the simple things you cannot find when you want !
    Several ways.
Easiest is to install the google toolbar

    http://toolbar.google.com/T4/index_pack.html

Allow Google to be the "default" search engine.
    (This is the default install)
Go into the options of the google toolbar
On the first pane is "search box settings "
On the bottom is a pull down window "Use Google Site "
You can change it to U.S.A for google.com or whatever you prefer

Another way is to create a google account and hunt around in the preferences for setting the default search engine by country.
I cannot find it but it must be there.

If you have problems try resetting the google toolbar back to defaults as a starting point.

As your setting is to Nigeria , which is a focal point of "Nigerian Letter Scams" it may well be that this is spyware , unless someone set the default google search setting to "Niigeria" as a joke for you or unintentionally.

All of the spyware ( or anti-spyware ) products find different items.
Best to do the updates. You can set spyware to a higher setting as well .
Change to "advanced settings" and up the level. Ignore the warnings in most cases.

You might want to run another product - they all find diffirent things

To read about the scourge of spyware :

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyware

Very good episode on history and origins of spyware

    http://www.twit.tv/sn7

Although people panic if they do not have their current version of the retail version of Norton Antivirus the biggest problem is by far spyware not viruses.
Many people have bought new computers thinking that their old computers were " so slow" when the problem was spyware.
Spyware can reduce even a fast broadband internet connection to 10 % or less.

Since you are in Nigeria, that's the default behavior of Google. When there's a country specific version of Google, it will take the place of www.google.com by default.

One of the links near the bottom of every 'country specific' Google page reads: Go to Google.com. Click that, and you are directed to the main Google site. If you allow cookies, next time you type www.google.com it will go to the main Google page instead of your country specific version.

Your IP address is allocated to Nigeria, so there lies your 'problem'.
