[Google Chrome opens up unwanted site on startup]

Recently Google Chrome on my 32 bit Win 7 Pro laptop has been bringin up an unwanted web site when I open Google chrome called http://www.redirsvc.com followed by a long string of other letters etc which then seems to take the browser to arcadeparlor.com Neither are in my list of sites to open and I want to get rid of this annoyance. Doesn't happen in other browsers and I'm running Malwarebytes and Sophos - scans with both ok. This seems coincidental with a downloaded of Unlocker from File Hippo.

 

Funny that you bring that up. Avast has removed Unlocker from my machine more than one time claiming that it was harboring some sort of virus or malware. I took it to be a false positive at the time, but I am not completely sure.

 

Still there after a Google reset Steve. I'm sadly convinced that it's got to be something to do with the very useful unlocked programme which I have now disabled. Yet to test Chrome to see if that's stopped the unwanted activity.
