I'm running XP Home and Pro on desktops and laptops and would like a backup program(s) that backup selective files and which initializes the backup when I am shutting down the computer. The MS backup and Partition Magic DataKeeper do not fit the bill. Any suggestions to low cost or freebie programs that are good?

Any backup program that permits the use of Task Scheduler would work, including the native XP backup program.

Under Scheduled Tasks you have, among other choices, the selection for a Task to be scheduled at Startup, at Logon, at Logoff and at Shutdown.

I should note that most difficulties people have with Scheduled Tasks is that they do not realize that the tasks cannot run on user accounts that have no password.

Thanks Bill. I did not even know about task scheduler or that it existed. Great idea.
