    Hi Kitty Cat

Most of the current crop of spam filters have moved to "Bayesian" filter systems... which learn auto-magically. They can come built into the browser/email client.. example Mozilla 1.7 or follow this Google link for other Bayesian email clients or as an possible addon to your favorite email client.

Our company has completly switched over to Mailshell's SpamCatcher (Desktop edition). It is $29.95 and the annual renewal price is about half that.

We have tested eight different products over the past 18 months and settled on this one as being the most effective. Effective is a very subjective term but from our point of view it consistently outperformed several of the highly touted spam killers out there.

POPFile is free open source and works better than anything tested.

    Overwhelming curiosity . . .

    KC -

Just out of curiosity - what is it that you don't like about MailWasher? Have you tried the newest Pro version? 4.1, I believe. Personally, I wouldn't be w/o it. :D

Several problems, but the most noteable is the "bounce feature ".
At best, it just tells the spammer that you are "a live sucker" and at
worst (since spammers fake return addresses) you are harassing some
poor innocent person who has had their email address "stolen ".

Well, I tried it and I don't really need it since all my hotmail accounts pretty much figure it out. but my bf does and he gets HUNDREDS of spam daily. Mailwasher never bounced them or blocked them properly, it just seemed to mulitiply them, LOL!! And it doesn't sort them, just pulls them all in and then decides which is junk but he has to wait forever for all these to come through and then let the program decide which is junk, then he has to go through and pick all the new junk for the day.. etc.. it's so time consuming!! He did find a new one and loves it, bought it too! I don't remember what it is but when he gets up, I'll ask. Remind me if I don't post back.

    Toodles.
