    Does anyone use the GMER root-kit detector? If so, is it any better than SUPERAntiSpyware or Malwarebytes MBAM?

    GMER is as you state a Root Kit detector, and is not in the same category as MBAM or SAS, which are malware detectors and removers.

    Adding to Geri's...it's a scanner only. It doesn't fix anything by itself, like those two others.
    You can use GMER to manually fix some issues, but you have to really know, what you're doing.
