I am trying to down load a music file (it isn't copyrighted). It plays beautifully on the web but when I try down loading it shows up as a WinZip file. Seems to unzip OK but when I try playing it on the latest Windows Media player the sound is horribly distorted. I noted the properties of the file are listed as *.MID.giz. I suppose the added giz is a problem. Just what is it and how does one convert it to a standard MIDI extension?

Tried that, it didn't work. Found the originator of the giz extension. Seems it is a compressor of sorts. There is a special file they have for uncompressing giz files. Down loaded it and tried it out. It does adjust the file to a MIDI file as *.MIDI Sequence. However the music is harsh and distorted. Perhaps the addition of Sequence after MIDI has something to do with it. Have e-mailed the group regarding the problem and await an answer.
