I use both IE and FF to watch http://192.168.100.1/ , the Scientific Atlanta site that monitors your cable modem. All was fine today until a Comcast tech swapped out my modem (I've been having intermittent disconnects). IE sees the SA site perfectly normally, but FF now only sees a tiny icon (GIF image?) in the top left corner of the screen....and the top "blue banner" across the top of the screen just says "(GIF Image)-Mozilla Firefox" [the IE banner says "Scientific Atlanta-MS Internet Explorer"]. Any idea what's going on? No settings were changed (XP/SP2), and it worked fine with FF 1.0.4 earlier in the morning before the modem swapout. [I subsequently upgraded to FF 1.0.7, didn't help. And neither did System Restore. All other sites appear normal]

Since you did system restore, I am not sure, but I would target the Firefox profile. My latest "solution" which may give you problems, if you use extentions, is to delete the chrome folder of the profile. The chrome folder will be rebuilt. You may need to do that.

    Chris,

The chrome folder Westside references is in your Profiles folder, located here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profilename\chrome

NOTE:These files are hidden by default
    To see hidden files:
    1. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options
    2. Click the View tab
    3. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders
    4. Disable "Hide File Extensions for Known Files. "
    5. Click OK.
