Suppose I rt-click on the Win 7 desktop and select "New" from the menu. I then get a choice of things like folder, text document, briefcase, etc. How do I get "Word Document" added to this list? [Word is already installed on this machine] Thnx

Doesn't look like Word is installed correctly.

I'd try a repair of the install. Which version of Word are we talking about?

Arie...I originally installed Word and Excel only from Office XP Pro (2002) disk. I got no context menu entries, but I got a couple of dialogs referring to Windows Office Agent 2 (something like that, never heard of it) that needed installation. I just now went back and installed the entire Office....and I did get the context entries, but along with some I don't need (eg, Access). You can't win!

I thought you needed to get stuff on the menu?

But yea, if you used software to get stuff off the menu, you'll have to use software to get it back on (unless you know the correct registry entries).

Arie....yes, I reinstalled ALL of Office (which did show up on the context menu), and then deleted the entries I didn't want.
