I have a user with a problem I have seen a few times & I think all of these have been when using w2k. When logging on or off an old wallpaper is momentarily displayed. Normally I wouldn't bother about it but this guy seems adament he removes it. I was thinking along the lines of just removing the bmp or jpg from the system but apparently it is already gone? Any ideas, is it going to be set in the registry somewhere?

    Thanks

IN the Display applet in Control Panel under wallpaper, set the wallpaper to none, and the background to a new colour (or pattern in Win ME back). Then later change it to the wallpaper you want after applying the change. This can work.

Also check if it hasnt cached a copy of the graphic to this path

    C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper

    or to

    c:\Windows

In win 98 (ME and 95) there are also settings for wallpaper in the win.ini file. Or is it the sys.ini file? Havent a 98 PC here right now to check.

See this before myself and fixed it, actually having trouble recalling how exactly as its been a while since i have done so. Hope the above helps.
