I own Outlook 2003. I no longer use it. I have designated my new email client as my default. Checking the Internet Connections in Control Panel confirms it. Now, I keep getting a message saying that I either haven't designated a default email client, or the new email client isn't doing it's job. The box only has an OK button to click on and no other choice. When I click on it another dialog box comes up and says Make Outlook my default, with only an OK box to click on. There's nothing else to click on, so I have to click on it, and then Outlook is designated as the default. One other thing. While the original box is on the screen, it locks up my computer until I click on that OK box. This is driving me absolutely nuts. Any ideas?

    Two suggestions ....

Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Programs - is your email client selected under Email?

    Uninstall Outlook 2003.

I tried your first suggestion. Outlook, as probably guessed, was the default. However, I suspect that was because that was my only option when I was getting mugged. Trying your second suggestion, I went to Control Panel> Add/Remove to uninstall Outlook, but it wasn't there. It also wasn't under Control Panel>Add/Remove Windows components. Isn't Outlook a part of Office, and not a separate program?

Outlook is part of MS Office as you rightly say, but individual items of Office can be removed ....

    Add/Remove programs > MS Office > Change > Add/Remove Features - Select Outlook

Thanks. That seemed to take care of the problem.
