I have been using Outlook 2007 for over a year now. Recently, I have been getting a prompt to compact my e-mail messages for Outlook Express. Obviously, I don't use Outlook Express. How do I either get rid of the prompt or uninstall Outlook Express since I don't even use it? I am suspicious as well as hesitant to just click OK.

You can let OE compact the files. Message will appear after OE is opened/closed 100 times. Has nothing to do with messages

Count might have been high before you switched.
If don't want to do that you can reset the count to zero with a registry edit.

    Start-run-regedit.
Navigate to the key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{bunch of numbers}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0
Highlight 5.0 and look in right pane for: Compact Check Count. Change the value to 0 and you won't be bothered for another 100 times.

In your case just compact the files (that also sets the counter to 0)-100 more times will probaly never happen.

Thanks that worked. I just changed the registry key. :)
