    Hi.

I've been asked to help a friend whoose Windows ME has stopped working.
After loads of trouble trying to reinstall Windows, we gave up and transfered all the files to another drive and performed a clean install.
Is there any way of delving into the files of the old Windows ME and getting their internet favorites for transfer to the new OS.

    Many thanks

    Spotta

Certainly - Favorites is just a folder containing sub-folders and shortcuts, nothing special. If the HD is connected, just browse to windows\favorites, and copy the folder to the windows folder the other HD. Standard windows-installed links may get overwritten, but that's no problem.

If using a floppy disk, use Winzip or Winrar, otherwise the favorites folder may be bigger than the floppy can hold, and it'll be a lot quicker.
