getting garbled text

when i click on some websites all i am getting is "00001$000" etc....... they won't open correctly. i use to have no problems. whats going on?

 

Did you make any changes before this started happening?

Try deleting your temporary internet files, cookies and history.

You might also try the Internet Explorer Repair Tool. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove programs. Find IE in the list and select it. Then click the add/remove button. Choose repair Internet Explorer from the resulting menu.

You might also want to run a scan for Spyware. You can download Adaware for free.

Do you have a popup stopper installed? If so they can sometimes cause problems viewing web pages in IE.

 

Some pop up stoppers will do that, it will put some of the code that would normally be used to open the pop up onto the page you are trying to view.
Web Washer will do this at times.
