    I have outlook 2000 SR1

I want to get all my sent mail and received mail out of various archive and inbox folders in outlook to a word or text document. With all emails combined they can then be efficiently indexed and searched by some engine like sleuthhound. Using outlooks limited search capability is just too slow and cumbersome.

I have not been able to accomplish this with their export function.

Looking for help. Like Blanche Devroe, when it comes to computers, "I have
always relied on the kindness of strangers. "

Can't say for sure with 2000 but I just played around a little with 2002 and the following looks like it might do what you want.

    File~Import and Export~Export to File~CSV file
Use the Map Custom Fields to select only the stuff you want to export, then finish and let it export. You could pick another file type for the export but CSV gives lots of options so it might be your best option.

I'd suggest a trial of only a single folder with a couple or three emails while you are fine tuning things but after that, you can dump everything without affecting the original posts at all.
