Getting booted off netscape/internet.

This is a problem I've been having ever since NS 4.75 came out. I go here or there on the net and usually when clicking on the "back" button I get booted out of the internet; back to my Win98 desktop, but I am still connected. I experience this problem with NS 4.75 and Mozilla 1.0. My wife has the same problem with NS 4.75 and IE 5. My brother has the same prob and he only uses IE 5.5. Also, problem occurs in my Windows or Linux computers. So, must be a browser prob?? We all have standard phone line modems and 56K modems.

If problem occures with different browsers, different OS on different machines, I would assume that it is not a browser problem but rather an ISP problem. Are all of you using the same ISP ?

This is just my opinion and I could be wrong.

We all have the same ISP. My brother lives about 20 miles away but is routed thru the same ISP. By the way do you mean who we send our bill to or the company that they (Chibardun.net) goes thru (Airstreamcomm.net) to get us on the net?? I mean Chibardun has the modems but the POP3 is Airstreamcomm.

I would suggest that you contact BOTH and voice your complaint.

I don't think you are going to find any solutions here.

Ordinarilly I'd guess a video driver problem or some such thing but considering the fact that everybody else has the same problem not to mention it occurs in linux too you would think that would be ruled out. It seems unlikely however, that anything your ISP would do would cause you to crash back to the desktop. Seem much more likely to be some sort of software problem. Since the only common denominator seems to be the ISP is it possible you have all installed the software that they use. If so, I would suspect a problem with that. If this is the case I don't know what you can do about it. You might check and see if they have a patch available for this. I could be wrong but thought it might be something else to consider.
