Thanks in advance for the insight - though from reading, I understand there are but a few who may be able to fully translate all this code I'll be posting.

But definitely appreciate any/all insight! :) I'm not much of a techie and the fact I figured out how to get the dump log is a miracle. Thanks for the great instructions!

I have a fairly new HP Pavillion dv9000 running Vista. It's been running like a charm UNTIL I decided to transfer a whole bunch of photos (about 4MB) to my new iPod Classic. That was the first time I saw the "blue screen of death."

It happened twice again (about a day later) when I transferred photos to my digital photo frame.

And now again after installing some workout software which included some instructional video.

I also noticed earlier whilst trying to watch something on iTunes, the video was "negative" for a bit before it would display. (But no blue screen then.)

Here is the log (sorry for the length post):

    KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (8e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.
    Arguments:
Arg1: c0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 962bbb09, The address that the exception occurred at

    Hi,

I can only talk about the basics.

I was reading about luafv.sys and it is involved with UAC. If you happen to have disabled UAC, re-enable it.

The other file involved is the Bowflex software.

It seems to be involved with "connected" hardware. I would uninstall the software for these devices (Control Panel -> Programs & Features).

They are all USB connected devices? Get updated drivers for the chipset (they appear to be nVidia nForce drivers, but check the model of your machine) at the HP website www.hp.com/support

After updating the drivers, look for updates for the Ipod/Itunes and Bowflex before reinstalling the software.

    Matt
