getting a linksys usb wireless adapter to connect to a 2wire gateway router

    my router is a 2wire Gateway. I have a desk top that I am trying to connect to my wireless network. I have a linksys usb network adapter. The linksys adapter needs me to put in a pin in the router. The folks at 2wire said that it doesn't support that. Is there a way for me to get these devices to communicate or do I need to return the USB network adapter or get a new router?

    Login to the wire control panel via the browser.
