    Hi Basstracker,

What things in your chrome file didn't you recover? Are you talking about the chrome folder in the Program Files/Netscape/Netscape directory, or the chrome folder in the Profiles directory?

To recover your passwords, first go to a site (this one) which requires a password, and enter the information. (You probably just did that)

    Close Netscape and Quick Launch
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to your backup *.slt folder
Copy the password file from the backup to the current *.slt folder
The file is named similar to: 32975487.s

In the current *.slt folder rename the NEW password file, e.g., X12345678.s
Rename the backup password file to the same name of the NEW password file.

This should give you back your passwords.

ALso, tried to download the home button from site you gave me a few months ago, page is no longer there.

My emails are the most important files I need however, I do have some of the info saved but dont know where to put them now cause its showing Users, and then Default Users

Oh dear, yes that is exactly where you should have saved your Netscape 7.02 Profile data. The Netscape Communicator 4.x Profile data is located in the Users folder.
    Try this site: http://3rdhand.info/mozilla/home/
As I stated above, Users is for Netscape 4.xx, and Default User will be the 7.02 Profile.

Let us know if we can be of further help.

    Basstracker,

There are no pests on this Forum, just users with questions... I love questions!

First, do you have Software Installation enabled? The setting is here:
    Edit | Preferences | Advanced
    Enable Software Installation
    Next:
    With Netscape open
Drag the home.xpi file to any open page
You will get a dire warning that the sky is falling, plague is upon us, etc. just ignore and elect to install the software

    Exit Netscape, then restart
Your Home Button should be in place.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Yes I found them on other hard drive. I put a new drive in and upgraded whole system and left most data on old drive.
