    Hi,

Although this problem has been posted in numerous threads, it does behave differently in each user's computers; so I will explain it from scratch.

After working for a long while with my computer, I receive this GHwin 32 error message.

Ignoring the message causes my internet connection to crash after a few minutes.
Clicking on "don't send" returns the same result, except quicker.
After this error occurs, access to my Windows Firewall becomes impossible.

I tried running the windows update WindowsXP-KB894391-x86-ENU.exe relating to this problem, but although the error message doesn't appear for longer than usual ... it does reappear.

I don't have any funny problems relating hp drivers, audio or usb devices.

Same as everyone, this is very frustrating. I'm a web developer, this is my working tool.

I have a fresh HJT log ready to post for whoever knows how to fix this problem and wants to help.

    Thanks heaps,

    Sebastian.

Hello and welcome to WindowsBBS Forums.

If you have already run HijackThis! then please provide the log file for review.

Please be sure it is installed properly; it must not be on the desktop, nor in any temp folders. Preferably in its own folder on the 'C' drive or in a folder in the 'Program Files' folder.

Someone will be along shortly to have a look at the log, please be patient as we get to it.

    Hi lnxpassion

Sorry for the wait, we have all been kind of busy.

You have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

    http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe
    http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

if you receive, while running option #1, an error similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe,
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.. "...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.

    Thanks Geri for your reply,

Funny thing happened. In one of the threads I saw that somebody switched Automatic Updates off and fixed the problem. Well, I've done it too.

I know it's not actually "fixing" the problem, but at least my net connection is not dropping every two hours.

I will however keep your thread in mind and run it one of this days, to fix it completely.

    Thanks again for your time,

    Sebastian.

    Hi Sebastian.
Could you point me to that thread?

    That is for sure.
But it is your machine and you can do this if you want, I myself would fix it.

OK, But please post before you do so, there may be a newer version to use to clean you up.

Sorry Geri, I have done quite a bit of research around, and can't exactly remember the thread's location. Nevertheless, if I do come across it again, I will post it for you.

    Thanks,

    Sebastian.
