After many hours of searching for the solution to this problem, I came across some of my old notes from about 5 years ago.
I had forgotten I had this problem the 1st year I installed XP sp2 and during that time tech support offered me this as a solution.

    Reboot the computer:

    Press F8:

    Select: Safe mode with Networking

    Select: administrator

(Windows now opens in safe mode)

    Go to: Start

    Select: Run

    Type in: services.msc

    (Look for)

    SSDP discovering Service Properties

    (go to) Startup

(change your settings from Manual to Disable)

    exit and reboot

    Problem is now solved.

No need for (BS) virus protection **** or updates from microsoft

Which I was suckered into trying these last few days.

    Happy computing!

Generic Host Process for Win 32

Well it would appear I spoke too soon.

Previously I would be online from 15 to 30 min and then this error message would appear.

Once I attempted this so called repair that I posted earlier I remained online for almost 2 hours.

    Now it has crashed again!

I should mention that the only program I installed prior to this was Micro softs

Malicious Software Removal Tools and what a surprise, something has gone wrong?
BTW my other computer (and friends computers that I have built up) does not have this program installed and has been running smoothly now for years.

I dont have any Spyware or Virus programs on the other computer and everything is working great!

I thought this would be a great program to have and decided to give it a try.

    :(
