    Hello

I wonder if there is way to create New Folder
with just one click instead of the annoying way
which Windows provides by default, mainly when you need to create many of them.A batch file would do this job?

You can use this batch file (edit it to suit) but you will need to have CmdHere installed on your drive. It's pretty handy to have anyway for other conveniences.

******Copy and paste this script to your Notepad********

    mkdir "new a "
    mkdir "new b "
    mkdir "new c "
    exit

    ******Then save it as C:\windows\system32\newdir.bat***

Then ever after, while in Windows Explorer, just right click any folder and select "Create Command prompt here ". Then type newdir (or what ever you choose to name it) and you'll get three new folders (unless they already exist by that name) created in the resident directory.

You can use this example and edit it to create your own personalized batch file. Perhaps make it create more or less folders, whatever you prefer. Change the naming system if you like.

oops! I just noticed what forum we're in and I don't even know that you have XP. If not the cmdhere I pointed to won't work for you but there is one for other Windows systems so you may have to do a search for one. The batch file will work with any Windows system.

I'll keep my eyes open for a "One Click Folder Creator" in case this is too much of a kluge.

    Hello Zephyr

Indeed it's too much :).I guess I have a simpler
solution:I made a New Folder in my E partition and created inside a number of folders F001,F002
    etc.;then I made a shortcut for E:\New Folder on
the desktop and dragged it on the launch bar next to IE icon. When I need a few new folders, just click the icon in launch bar and have those F00x
folders at hand; I highlight how many of them I
need and drag them onto desktop or an open folder
(wherever I need them).Of course I would prefere a "1 click" solution but for now I can live with
    this one.If you'll find at any time a "1 click "
    solution, please let me know.

    regards and thanks again
    Stefan

    Ok Stefan

It ain't gonna' get any better than this. It's written in VB and will give you a right click option item that allows you to create a folder within any directory you click. Then you are allowed to name it at the same time.

    Regards

    Hello Zephyr

I apologize for my late answer, but I was out
for a while and just came back to my PC.Create New Folder Utility is very closed to what I wanted. The only drow back is : you cannot make New Folders on desktop :( so I use my method (described in my previous message) when I need new folders on the desktop.

Thak you for your kindness again

    regards

    Stefan
