    hi friends

In a PC running win7.prof.64bit, a folder via Advanced Sharing, 'Users' as a group is added to the tabs 'Sharing & Security' giving full Control but Users don't full control.

Only when User's Specific Name is registered with full control, only then full control is evident.

    Why?

Because 'Users" is a Group, not a specific individual user. Pertmissions are set on a per-user basis.

Tony u are right to differentiate a Group.

However in xpwin.prof.sp3 i can just allow the Users Group to have full control on a shared folder and any specific user in the Users Group receive full control. How can i duplicate this arrangement in win7.prof.64bit. The help in win7 is not too clear for ME.

    PS1:
What i finally found is if 'Users' Group is given full control, any specific user in this group will ALSO have full control which seem to nullify what i stated at the start of this thread. What really happening is if Group is 'Power Users' (not Users) and is given full control, specific Power User don't have full control. This means that Power Users seems buggy. In winxp.prof.sp3 it works perfectly.

    FINAL PS:
JUST found out that Power Users is just a name without the usual powers in win7, hence this issue appeared. The solution is to create a new PowerUsersII giving whatever powers you want, that's it. Hence this thread is now marked as Resolved. Bye.
