I have recently installed Netscape 4.7.

I notice that, when I call up a New Mail form, in the middle of it is the following 'garbage':

    --
    ÃÃࡱá

    which I have to delete.

What is it? And how can I get rid of it?

    Thanks

    Fred

    Hi Fred,

My first thought was that it could be a signature file that you've created?

I asked on a NG to see whether or not anyone else had experienced this anomaly, and that was one of the questions asked, also. No solutions offered yet.

Another question: does this happen only in email, or also in Newsgroups?

    Let us know...

    Thanks, Ramona

Yes, you are absolutely right. That seems to be the problem. When I first installed Netscape, I was feeling my way around and decided to try the 'signature' function. It didn't work but I think that that was when the 'garbage' was introduced on my new mail form.
I've now deleted the 'signature', and the garbage has disappeared.

    Thanks again, Ramona.

    Best, Fred
