    Hello everyone,
I have been reading alot about Windows Vista on the Microsoft web site. I am very excited about Vista and I can't wait until its released to the general public in January of 2007. ;)

I have only one question about Windows Vista. Right now on my Windows XP computer I have 7 videogames installed. The viedeogames that I have installed are: Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast, Star Wars Jedi Knight 3 Jedi Academy, Star Wars Battlefront, Star Wars Battlefront 2, The Matrix Path of Neo, The Lord of The Rings The Return of the King, and Doom 3. All of the games range from being 1 year old to 4 years old. They were all designed for either Windows XP or Windows 2000. I just want to know does anyone have these games and if so, do they work with Windows Vista RC1.

I would greatly appreciate any information when it comes to campatibility isuues with games on Windows Vista RC1. :D

I am sure that there are forums relating to these games - they would be the best place for information regarding Vista. I run Vista RC 2, but am not a gamer in any shape or form :)

IMO - anything which was written to run on XP will run on Vista.

    Here's a pretty huge list:

Windows Vista RC 2 Software Compatibility List

    It's broken down into :

    1. Works
    2. Has problem but can be solved
    3. Heavy Problems, currnetly incompatible

Click on anything on the list to see the detail.

Thanks for your reply Alpha and Omega. I am learning all about Windows Vista on the Microsoft Website but it doesn't say anything about compatibility issues with games running on Windows XP. Its good to know that those games will run on Windows Vista without any problems. :)

    Hello all,
I have been reading about Windows Vista for a while and I have determined that depending what version of Vista you buy you can do a clean install or an in place upgrade. I have a Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 computer. I know that games that were designed for Windows XP should work on Vista but my second question is if I end up buying Windows Vista, which edition would be best for gaming? My guess is either Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate. What do you guys think about it?

    Hello PeteC,
I will probably end up buying Windows Vista Ultimate because that has all the features of Vista and I can do an in place upgrade on my Windows XP computer where I can keep all of my files and settings and I won't have to reinstall any programs. :)

Thanks for your advice PeteC. :D
