It must be something I downloaded or a website I visited, I had adware stuff on my computer and I finally got rid of all that junk with adaware. But the gadgets on the sidebar don't display properly. I followed some MS engineer's suggestion (online) and refreshed the settings of the sidebar. But it didn't help. There was also the suggestion that I should set up another user account, but I am not sure that I want to do that.

Is there any other solution to it?

Moved from Windows 7 forum to Vista forum.

Your profile shows you have Vista & Windows 7 doesn't have a sidebar...

Yes, I had a Vista, but I upgraded (given by Dell) to windows 7. Anyway, the clock and weather gadgets displayed on the right hand side of the screen (I am not sure if it is called the sidebar) don't display properly.

Note sure what "don't display properly" would mean, but make sure you have the latest driver for your graphics card.

For example, a square with a red line in the middle instead of a clock, and you can close it (the x mark is still there).

I just updated the video card drivers. But it made no difference.

Installing that .bat file mentioned in the link worked. The gadgets are now showing properly. Thank you, Peter and thank you Arie for your help.

Arie, I still don't know where I have to check 'Issue resolved' or something. I saw it only first when I posted the first query. Now I don't see it anywhere on the page.
