Just curious if anyone knows if there are going to be continued updates for FF if you use Win98. I have a couple people that have asked me. In another post, Ramona said that there will be an update to FF2 coming soon. Is this the last of the updates to FF2? Maybe that isn't known, but I thought I would ask. I realize Win98 is getting old, but some people still have and use it daily. Thanks for any thoughts.

    Mike,

The most recent word is that there is an upcoming 2.0.0.15 Release, which you already know, and 2.0.0.16 is already being developed. Support for 2.0.0.xx will continue thru December 2008. The only other updates for 2.0.0.xx would be security patches. That can always change, but as of yesterday that's the word... See this page: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

Could be that Windows 98 users will have to use unsecure Firefox 2, or move to SeaMonkey.

    Hi Ramona,

As always, I can count on you! Thanks for the info. I will pass it on to my friends. I'm assuming that Thunderbird will not migrate from Win98, like FF is.

Thanks for your help and I will try to keep our flood waters from reaching you! ;)

What Ramona says, I think, is that Firefox2.x may be less secure than, what I call fussy, FF3.0. I don't believe that there has been any migration of FF (unless it was a flood situation).

    Westside,

Maybe "migration" was the wrong word to use. Since FF3 can not be installed on Win98, I was asked if the same would happen to TB. I guess the only thing migrating around here would be somebody's personal possessions that went down stream during the flood.:D
