I have a FTP site at ZFTP.com and have started to have trouble uploading to it. My connection is dropped before a file is uploaded. My ISP says it is the FTP server and ZFTP says it is my ISP. I am hooked to the Internet with 512 DSL and have disabled my firewall when I upload, I have a U S Robotics Wireless Turbo Access router Model 8054 connecting to wired computers, I use the wireless part for my laptop. I use Window 98SE. Anyone have any ideas? Are there other FTP sites that I could try? Any local settings that could be hampering my uploading?

Are you using an ftp program to upload files? That's what I use. If you're using a browser, suggest you switch; browsers are too slow.

Yes I have two FTP programs that I have tried, FTP Explorer and WS_FTP Home--same results with both.

Your ISP probably has some gigabytes available for free storage for web sites etc. that you're already paying for; not sure why you're using zftp, but why not set something up on your isp's computer to test the upload speed there and possibly determind who's causing the slow uploads.

My ISP does not provide any free space but do offer it for a monthly fee and a $40 setup fee--stinks.

Not sure where 'big red country' is but would consider STRONGLY an isp change. All the locals around here provide the service (5-10GB) at no additional charge.

I am in Northwestern Nebraska-I have two options-one company offers 56k dialup and the other offers 56k dialup and DSL[I have 512 K at $50 per month] we do not have many options here, maybe in the future. :(
