When I add an e-mail link with Frontpage the address in the pop up compose window
i.e to john@hotmail.com is in the to window as john@hotmail.com/start which leads to non-delivery of the e-mail.
    any ideas ??

    schamish,

Try this & see if it works.

    With FrontPage open to your Webpage for the link;
    1. Click on Insert, then Hyperlink (Ctrl +K). Edit Hyperlink Window opens.
2.Near the bottom where it shows "URL:" to the extreme right of this is 4 little Icons. One is an envelope. Click on this Icon and the "Create an E-mail Hyperlink" window opens.
    3. Enter your address info.
    4. Click on OK, and again, click on Ok and that should do it.

    Hope this helps.

  3. to hide this advert.

    irdreed,
that is the procedure that I used to insert the e-mail link.
    it puts in the suffix
when you try to send mail - the mail is returned to the sender as undeliverable.
when you check out many of the e-mail links on webpages they have the same marker.
    frontpage dows it automatically.
I am only adding the e-mail address in the setup of th e webpage.
how do I remove the addon to the e-mail address ?

    schamish,

    Here's what I just did:

Insert/Hyperlink, Click on e-mail Icon then typed in the E-mail address "someone@microsoft.com" (example, not the real one I used) clicked OK. The URL Box now has "mailto:someone@microsoft.com ". (Please note that the address is preceded by "mailto ") Clicked on Ok. Then Published to web.

Went to Web Page with the new e-mail address and again found this: "mailto:someone@microsoft.com ". Clicked on the link and sent an E-mail which I did receive O.K.

There were no suffixes added nor should there be.

It may be that you have an error of some sort in your FrontPage Program, which you can correct by reloading from the CD.

That's all I can think of for now. Hope this helps
