    Hi all,
Hope someone can help me with this.
I have built new computer using a "no-name" case and the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe mobo, all is well so far except I am confused by the front panel audio connections.
    On the mobo I have:

    Mic2 / AGND
    MICPWR / +5VA
    Line out_R / BLINE_OUT_R
    NC / (no pin)
    Line out_L / BLINE_OUT_L

....The case wires are marked (2 sets of 4)as follows:

    Mic in
    GND
    Lout
    Lin

    and..

    Mic in
    GND
    Rout
    Rin

Can anyone tell me which connectors should connect to which pins??!?, and if I have the speakers plugged in the back (on board sound), will they work and when needed, be able to plug in a headset to the front panel and have that work?

Thanks in advance for any light shed on this matter.

    Colin

    Hi Colin,

    Should work if connected correctly.

From what I can make out, one of those "Mic in" should carry the 5 volt power for the microphone, can you see any difference between them?

With my new box I gave up trying to connect to the front audio jacks. I think it was a case of not enough information and a bunch of numbered wires and not much else. May be similar to you?
The front USB wasn't a problem though. I left the audio going to the back connectors only.

Sounds like there are connections for L and R speakers as well as MIC. You'll need to trace wires to see where they come from, not an easy task. Paul's solution may be safest and best.
