Hello everyone,

My moniker is "OldMartian" because I'm an advocate of space exploration and other planetary advancments.

I have a dual-boot machine with WXP and W7 on it. I help my friends with installations, troubleshooting and fixing problems.

Due to age, my own CPU sitting on my shoulders is slowly wearing out and todays problems are more intricate than they were in earlier computer years.

So I'm joining this forum to seek serious help when I need it. With luck I'll even be able to help others with minor problems.

They (emoticons) were cute in the late 70's before GUI's were in use, but the kids catch on to them and pollute the messages with the distracting thigs as if they themselves invented them. I'm not really a grumpy guy.
