    E-machine C2881.
This system had xp home. Was very slow, and had other small issues,
so I decided to re-format and re-install my xp home.

Computer now goes to the windows load screen, but that is as far as it gets.
I have not changed anything in bios, or hardware.
    I have tried several times.

    Any ideas...
    Thanks

Sounds like a corrupted install. Try again.

Bad copy of Windows on the CD/DVD or a scratch on it and it isn't loading properly. Been there done that till I was almost bald.

I suppose that could be possible, but I just installed it on my other PC
    and it did just fine.

    Thanks: Tmack

Could be a hardware problem. Either check yourself, or have a technician look at it.

try switching the DVD drive with the machine where the install worked fine You may have a bad DVD drive as Arie suggested.
