Hi, I have just been through a lenthy process with Geri and Noahdfear removing malware and getting my computer back up and running. Although it seems to be running ok Dave has recommended a Fresh install of windows at some stage soon as there are corruptions in the file system.
I understand you use the recovery disks that I received when I purchased the computer and follow the booklet instructions, but is there anyway I can copy over Norton Antivirus and Peggles the game which I downloaded from the internet, also Microsoft Office that I cannot find the original packaging and disks.
    Cheers, Jae

The simple answer is "no ".
Every program (except for those few ones, which don't run installation) has to be reinstalled.

    Sometimes yes, sometimes not necessarily.
Program has to be installed, so you either have installation disks, or you download a program from internet.
In case of Norton, you may be able to download it from internet, and use your activation key to unlock it, but you'll have to contact Symantec about it, because some programs have some limitation, as to on how many computers, or how many times, they can be installed.
Since you are gonna reinstall Windows, your old key may/may not work, but since you paid Symantec your subscription, they should issue you a new key in case your old one doesn't work.
I'm pretty sure someone else, who went through similar situation will chime in here, and will tell you more details.

    Hi Broni,
I have tried several times to do a restall following a booklet instruction. Even though the instruction were a bit vague and some of them inncorrect. I winged it through, it still appears to had no effect. By that I mean I still have programs that I have installed after I brought computer and user accounts the I have renamed are still the same.
    Any ideas ?
    Jae
