There's a particular house subcommitte hearing I'd like to get the webcast video of. It's called "A Rational Discussion of Climate Change: the Science, the Evidence, the Response ". The subcommittee's web page has a link to the webcast of the hearing; it's about 3 hours long, so I'd rather download the video as a file and view it when time allows.

Does anybody know of a freeware software product that would allow this? I've used GOOGLE to search for something, but no luck so far. I've run into lots of webcast production software, but nothing to download a webcast and stash it in a file.

Just for interest I followed Mark's link just out of curiosity, and WOT flagged it as untrustworthy.

I use Polderbits for all my listening, excellent programme. It's not free but will record anything that you can hear on your PC speakers. It also has a sound editor included.

Wasn't me! It was Web Of Trust which flagged the site Freedownloadscentre as having a poor reputation.

If you are happy with that please mark the thread as resolved from the "Thread Tools" tab just above the top right hand corner of the first post.

My 2¢ — I don't know if it will work for what you want to do, but, I've always copy\pasted the URL into RealPlayer (free version) and get a little dropdown box to record it.
