Windows Vista free upgrade from vista home basic to ultimate? is it possible?

    HI,
    I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade to vista ultimate from home basic.
    I cant afford to buy Windows 7, and wondered if i can download a free copy of Vista Ultimate...thanks

    There aren't any legal free copies of Vista Ultimate unless you have a membership to something like TechNet.

    thanks for your input..if i have to pay something then fine, but windows 7 is very expensive, and i would have to upgrade my graphics card whereas i would not need to do that for vista ultimate, have tried going through Microsft but they now only do Win.7
