Fortiguard Trouble!

    I had my Vista laptop stolen and just got it back by the police. Got everything tickety-boo but when I go to a site like uTorrent I am blocked by something "powered by fortiguard"

    Nothing in add/remove, downloaded other removers, even ran a removal tool for fortiguard.

    Now what??? What did they do and how does this fortiguard live where it can't be found?

    What's the fix?

    Seems to be difficult, but not impossible to remove (by the whoever installed it), but it's doing you a favour. Our standatd response in the Malware & Virus Removal forum ....

    The only way you can trust that system again is to format & reinstall the OS & applications. You have no idea what could be installed...

    I second that. In fact I would go step further and encourage you to zero out/wipe the drive & then install again. This would disable/remove almost all known threats.

    I will take the risks. I will. Question is do you or do you not know how to rid my system of this problem with fortiguard and how? Tha't what I wish to know. I am aware of threats. If need be, I will format.

    So how do I find this gremlin???
