How much space do you need? The 74 GB in your system details is too small by current standards. I would buy a SSD, 125-250 GB depending on which programs you plan to install and an "oldtimer" HDD for your data. How large depends on your needs, 500 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB? I would also get a second HDD for backups of the OS and data.

Christer I have an ancient desk top that I would like to put win. XP on only to copy a small amount of data that was done on Win 2000 several years ago and is not compatible to Win. 7. Also to set up a Database of 95 people to Merge Mail. That is all it will be used for. It will never be on line. I have an XP installation disk with code number. that I can use. I am not computer savvy and just wanted to know if all I had to do was format the C drive and insert the installation Disk? thanks for any advice.
