When I click to open an incoming JPEG file on an email (or similar) the computer always opens it in Microsoft WORD.

How can I force JPEGS to open in Photoshop?

    1. Save the image.
    2. Hold down Shift & rt click image and select Open with...
    3. Select Choose default application.

Alternately, go to Control Panel > Default Programs.

Myself, I use Windows Photo Viewer to view images because it's faster & lightweight. If I want to edit an image I rt click & select Open with... and choose one of my image editors.

I think you should consider what Tony is saying here. Photoshop is a big resource user and I personally don't think it a good idea to have it as your default JPEG viewer unless you needed to edit these type files all day long.

As Tony noted, you can always right click on the object to select which program you want to open with on a case-by-case bases when doing more just viewing.

I am glad you got your problem sorted but the very purpose of tech support forums like WindowsBBS is so folks can get together and SHARE what they have learned so others may benefit from our experiences.

Telling us the problem is resolved without telling us what was wrong and what corrected the problem does not reflect the forum spirit as it helps no one.

So, what was wrong and how did you fix it?
