Since changing to a new ISP and a new Router, the DHCP function on this IBM MT-M 8086 Think Centre S 50, is failing to adapt to new ISP DNS and Router.
For it to connect on reboot, I have to disable and enable the network adapter. This causes a problem of not being able to access the machine remotely should the power go out and the machine reboots on its own.
Tried reinstalling the driver, IBM does not seem to have a compatible driver and Intel's closest driver, a Vista version gives same result. Found a newer driver from Intel and it still gives same results.
The adapter just seem to be fixed on starting up to old settings. Did a DNS Flush and still same results.
How do you completely erase any past previous network settings without having to reinstall Windows 7 Professional.
I plug computer in directly to Modem and there are no connection issues.
Starting to think my refurbished router may be a problem. Already on DHCP I got an IP address conflict with same machine. I could set it to static IP but don't want to do that because I may change back to old provider again.
    :(

When changing ISPs you must do this sequence.

Uninstall any wifi connection software that came with the drivers.
Turn off/unplug all devices and computers.
Plug in modem and let sync with ISP.
Plug in router and let sync with modem.
Turn on comps one at a time and let sync with router.

**** Network Adapter working fine on static IP.
---On DHCP, on IPconfig command, it shows Default Gateway as 0.0.0.0 AND 192.168.1.1 underneath, thus failing to connect to Internet.

Login to the router and change the DNS servers to: (google dns)
    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4

On the computer, go to device manager and uninstall the adapter. Reboot and let Windows load the drivers.

If you do that and want to change back to the router you must unplug the modem and the router and power them on one at a time, modem first, else the modem will not associate with the router.

I wouldn't trust a refurbished router as a door stop! Routers go bad mainly due to heat damage over time. Refurbishing a router cannot cure damage caused by heat because the circuits that appear to be undamaged will fail soon enough.
