How do I force Mozilla mail to use Powerpoint to open attachments with the .pps extension? Everytime I try to open the attachment I get a browser screen that says :
    URL Sent to Star Downloader.
Click 'Back' to go back and continue browsing.

The top of the browser window shows the name of the attachment with "(application/octet-stream Object)" after it.

    I'm using Mozilla 1.5. :(

    Hi
    jw_elder77,

You really don't need Star Downloader with Mozilla, but of course that is your choice.

    Go to:
Edit | Preferences | Navigator | Helper Applications
Delete any entry you see there for:
    application/octet-stream

If you have no Helper Application listed for Power Point files, then you can add it to the list:

Click on the "New Type" tab
    Enter this information:
    MIME type: application/vnd.ms-powerpoint
    Description: PPS File
    Extension(s): pps

Enable: Open it using the default application
Your choice on: Always ask me before handling files of this type

Let us know if this helps.

    Ramona :D
