I have suddenly acquired 2 font problems, both relating to Works spreadsheet.

First, I cannot alter the font, either for size or for style.

Second, when entering dollars in a table, the two zeros to the right of the decimal point are dropped; when I go to Format>Number the computer shuts down and then restarts.

In both cases I get an error message you know, the standard "an error has occurred, do you want to send information to Microsoft, etc ".

I don't seem to have this problem with word, either as text or when designing my own table.

I have a third problem, but don't know if it is connected with these two, so I'll post it separately as "Tables and Borders" problem.

How can I straighten out this mess?

    Font problem (in Works Spreadsheet)

Further info: I use an HP Pavilion a1550y with XP Home. The problem only appears in Works, not Word, and is connected according to one error message I received with the MS Works Font Cache.

Is this fixable or would it make more sense just to reinstal Works Suite 2006? (Or is reinstalling the chicken way out?)

Works should have a repair feature, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it in your situation. I'm using 7.0 so instructions may differ for 6.0.

Open Add/Remove Programs and select Microsoft Works. Under the heading, click the link 'Click here for support information'. A dialog box will open with a Repair button.
