Following RELOAD, Navigator4.79 OK but no Messenger

I just completed a "clean" install of NS4.79 into my W98SE, having had previous problems getting my old bookmarks, address book, and mail into new version. The install went well (thanks for the help on your Netscape Solutions website, Romona!), and the browser (Navigator) works well, all bookmarks back, as well as address book. I can't seem to load up Messenger, though....tried clicking on the option on drop-down below "Communicator ", from the lower-left taskbar which shows the icon (I DO get a 2-second burst of "hourglass" wait icon there), and lower right icon with the yellow arrow. Is there something I need to do to activate the Messenger function? Thanks for any help.

There's nothing extraordinary that you should have to do in order to launch Messenger.

First thing, check your Preferences for Mail & Newsgroups.

Look at the Mail & Newsgroups|Mail Servers
In the "Local Mail Directory" be certain that the path to your Mail folder is correct:

C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\username\mail

Post back and let us know the results.

Yes...silly me.....I had installed the program to D: drive, but the user profiles were still in C:, and the wrong path was in there. Thanks very much for pointing me in the right direction! (blush)...
