Folders and Files missing?

I run XP Home, to start with. I have my HDD partitioned thru "G ", and I have the folder My Documents on "G ". I have several folders under that one. Yesterday I went looking for a picture in My Pictures, which in under My Documents, and found that all of my folders and files under My Documents were gone. They were not in the recycle bin either. I did not delete them. Ran A/V and all was good, ran several Adware programs and found no reason either. They just disappeared??????? They were there the day before. Any clues? Luckly I had backups, except for some of the lates data and pics. Woe is me. But backup, backup, backup.

 

If you can remember even one full file name use the search feature of XP to find it. Or, if you remember the file extension(s) such as .gif or jpg or whatever, use Search, and search for: *.extension

I do not believe it is gone, just moved elsewhere.

 

I looked for the folders, some files and still no go.
