I must have done it again. I had different folders opening a different size on the screen. Now they are all the same size. About 3/4 of the screen. I sometimes have 2 or 3 folders open at the same time. I do not want to have to tile them. Some maybe on top, some right. Depends on what I am doing. I used to click the X while holding down Ctrl (Win98), and remembered the size and shape. This does not seem to work in my WinXP. Nothing fatal here, just not what I want. Can someone help.

The same thing should work with XP.

Take a look Here for some ideas.

And Here for a way to increase the number of folder settings the system will remember. Haven't tried this one but the site usually has solid suggestions.

Thanks Newt, but I tried these things and they did not work. I have Remember each folders view settings checked, and Apply to all folders. If I take off Apply to all folders, View goes to Tiles and cannot remember the change. I use Windows Classic Folders, and Open each folder in its own window.

The second link that Newt indicated should have cleared all the currently remembered folder settings so that you can begin to reset them as you want. If doing it manually did not seem to help, try this reg file and merge it into your registry. It will clear your present folder settings and increase the number of "remembered" folders to 8000.

    http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/bags8000.reg

You then should be able to customize each folder as you wish.

Thanks, Abraxas. I downloaded the Reg file and installed. Changed to "Reset all folders ", changed the Folder Screen to what I want, and it stayed there. I will save this Reg file for later use if needed. I appreciate the help.
