As what has been posted by szvpvp on April 29th. and jasoncoles31 on May 4th., I still unable to put off the read-only properties of the folder (every folder in XP in (partially) read-only). Although I can modify files inside the folder 'directly',(i.e. Adding records on an Access (*.mdb) file using Microsoft Access. Modifying the file 'indirectly' (i.e. executing SQL command to enter the data on the same Access file in a client/server environment) is not possible. This is similar to what had happened to jasoncoles31. Any help is very much appreciated..

    - XP-home or XP-pro?
    - If Pro, domain or workgroup network?
    - File system FAT32 or NTFS?

Moving this to the networking section since I think that is where the problem lies.
