folder properties doesn't work

Any windows experts in here? When I right click on a folder and select properties... nothing happens. Now I can't get to changing the security settings & attributes of my folders. Right click properties on disk drives and files still work though, only folders are affected. I've asked around a lot and this seems to be an obscure problem because I've only met one other person who has this same problem, and no one we've asked knows the solution. I believe the problem is with some program tinkering with the registry and in the process screws up the folder properties. Please I'm desperate for a solution. This problem annoyed me so much that it forced me to reinstall windows (I'm OC, I know), but right after I've finished setting up my computer the problem resurfaced again! Now I'm ready to throw my machine out the window. Please someone help.

 

Can someone look into their registry for me and give me the default keys under the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shellex\PropertySheetHandlers
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\shellex\PropertySheetHandlers
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shellex\PropertySheetHandlers

I need the CLSIDs (the long string of numbers that look like this:{3EFC0B01-F4AA-101A-8932-08002B327C2D}) Some program I installed ******* it up and I need it restored to the default.

 

Anything interesting checked/not checked when you go into tools~folder options?

If you highlight a folder and do files~properties you should get security tab and a couple of others.

I have pics of the registry stuff you want and will happily email them if you have email enabled. If not, send me an email and I will put them in a reply.

FWIW - on my system, sharing is the only one that is populated with data other than (default), REG_SZ, and either a blank or "value not set ".
