The menu bar on all my folders has gone missing. I can only navigate by right-clicking to bring up a menu there (to change the view, add a subfolder, etc.) I've probably clicked some chechbox or radio button somwhere. But Windows 2000 Help is no help at all when it come to menu bars on folders.

I've been using Win2K for four years and this is the first time this OS has stumped me. And it seems like it should be such a simple thing.

    I would welcome any advice.

    Thanks!

I'm not quite sure of what you mean by the menu bar. So here is a quick run through of places to look. I presume you are talking about a missing menu in Windows Explorer

You should at least have menus across the top of the window (if not you really do have a good problem). One of the menus is the view menu (you can also open this with <alt><V> when the explorer window is selected.

    From the view menu:

Toolbars > Standard Buttons -- reveals and hides the button bar

Toolbars > Address Bar -- reveals and hides the address bar (that you can type in to jump to a folder directly)

Explorerbar > Folders -- reveals and hides the left pane containing the tree view of folders. There is also a "Folders" button on the Standard Buttons bar that does the same.

Another place to look is on the Tools Menu. This is the "Folder Options ". The "Web View" setting is enabled here. It is this that gives you an extra bar on the left of each listing of files.
