    XxPcBxX,

Welcome to the board! First of all, have you checked all cables to make sure that they are secure? Did you remove the floppy cable and reattach it? If you step us through the process, maybe we can offer a solution.

You may have the floppy signal cable up side down. The pin one (red) side should be next to the floppy drive motor.

Does your light come on on the floppy drive? Does it stay on all the time?

Try what Bill suggests. Do you have another floppy drive to put in? Just to rule out a bad drive.

Take a look in your BIOS, Standard Settings and see what the BIOS is expecting your [A]Floppy drive to be. If it's not a 1.44MB drive then change it to one. ;)

    Try resetting defaults

    In BIOS by:

Clear NVram - aka - reset defaults - aka reset configuration data

On older systems there may be a jumper or DIP switch ( be sure pwr off!!!! )

The floppy drive has two cables. One is from the power supply and the other (signal) runs from your motherboard FDC connector to the back of your drive. :)

If your floppy drive light does not stay on, your probably connected correctly. Do make sure that the drive ribbon is secure though.
