    Hi All

I have a strange 'fault' when opening document files with XP.

Sometimes (I cannot make it happen) when opening a doc file in Word or when trying to search an opened doc file in world the required action does not occur, but the file name flashes on the bottom menu. Clicking on the flashing name or closing and reopening the file usually clears the problem.

More of a irritation that a fault but I would like to avoid it

    Regards

    Tam

Tamlyn - Welcome to the Board :)

This is not a fault - it is a feature. The program is drawing your attention to the fact that it wants to open a new window, etc. When you say 'bottom menu' I assume you mean the Taskbar running across the bottom of the screen.

This behaviour can be controlled to some extent using TweakUI - General Tab > Focus

    Thanks

It is another annoying feature, then I need not worry but just try to get to love it. Many Thanks
