I know I definatley have installed Flashplayer and MacroMedia player both installed on my system, because I installed both one after the other...

However if I goto a site like "youtube" (a friend sends me alot of links there) it always says "no flashplayer installed ". does anyone know why? Even if I click on the link to install it, it then says it is installed, but I go back to the originating site (youtube fro example) and it says the same thing... "flashplayer is not installed ".. It does this on many other sites aswell..

    Any help would be appreciated...

Alpha_and_Omega--In the test link that Arie provided, it also mentions the possibility that your installation of FlashPlayer (and/or its ActiveX control) may be corrupted even when installation of the latest Player is indicated. It suggests using the Uninstaller (link provided) before reinstalling FlashPlayer 9.
    Might be something to try.

Note also the idea of putting the URL of the site that does not display Flash content into Trusted Sites.

No luck... tried uninstalling, re-installing, then un-installing and re-installing, even asking their support (with no answer).. and still, it won't work it always says its not installed, no matter what site I go to... except for Adobe, there it says its installed, even giving the version...

Alpha_and_Omega--Did you try putting YouTube's URL into Trusted Sites? Or if YouTube directs you to another site to see an image, then put the URL of that site into Trusted Sites.

blssdmmm1--Regrets. I do not use AOL and do not know what functions you have in the browser.
Can you still access IE when using AOL? If so, do so, and in IE Tools|Internet Options|Security tab|click Trusted Sites icon|Sites|enter the URL of all websites involved|at the bottom uncheck the box "Require server verification.... "|OK.
