ok so i had gotten a virus and ran lavasoft spyware remover. after it was done there were alot of problems so i went into the advanced section and deleted everything it said was wrong. then it all went wrong. the computer restarted and then the ntdlr file was missing and the boot.ini was gone too. after getting them into a disk i tried to run in safe mode but the comp only loads some of the files. is there a way that i can add or relocate the files that have been deleted? i have the HD of that comp in slave mode on my other computer. what can i do to fix what i did wrong?

    Hello ministone22,

At this point, the most straightforward way to repair/add missing system files is to do a repair of the installation:

    http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

While you have that HD in the your 2nd system, copy off any user data before putting it back into the original system for the procedure - the repair shouldn't lose data, but still should be backed up.
